What we collect

If you download a free magnet or opt into an email list, we store the email address you give us with our email provider (Kit) so we can send the file and, if you asked, occasional updates. The calculators and quiz run entirely in your browser — your answers themselves are never sent to us. The one exception: if you submit an email for the quiz's chapter guide, your result stage (not your individual answers) is attached to that subscription so we can send the right guide.

If you use the bulk order form, we also receive the organization name, role, quantity, and message you submit, so we can respond to the inquiry. That’s business-contact information; it gets the same treatment as everything else here — never sold, deleted on request.

To stop bots from hammering the free tools and the signup forms, a rate limiter briefly holds your IP address in Upstash, a database we use for nothing else. It’s kept for up to ten minutes — long enough to count requests in that window — and then it expires on its own. It isn’t tied to your name or your email and can’t be looked up by either, so there’s nothing there to delete on request; it ages out by itself.

The Job Site Audit

When instant teardowns are enabled, Job Site Audit submissions are processed with an AI system (Anthropic’s Claude) running our structured teardown framework to generate your teardown; otherwise a human reviews submissions for the show. Either way, the budget numbers you submit are not stored by us — they are processed and discarded. AI processing uses Anthropic’s API; per its terms, API inputs are not used to train models. The free-text "what’s going sideways" box goes to Anthropic along with the numbers, so leave out names, employers, or anything else identifying — the audit only needs the situation, not who it belongs to.

If you leave an email address so the teardown can come back (or check the publish-consent box), we store that email address with our email provider (Kit) until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. That’s the deletion path: unsubscribe in one click, or email us at support@toolsandtradesmoney.com and it’s gone.

Our servers keep short-lived operational logs of audit requests that record only the HTTP status and error class — never the trade, the dollar figures, the free-text narrative, or whether an email was included. They rotate out automatically.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, under Paddle’s own privacy policy. We don’t see or store your card details. We receive your email address with a completed order so your receipt and download link can reach you.

Analytics

We use three analytics tools to understand traffic in aggregate: Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights (cookieless — no cross-site tracking), Google Analytics 4, and a Meta Pixel for ad measurement. Google Analytics may set cookies and the Meta Pixel sets its own cookie when it loads; we run Google Analytics in Google Consent Mode with ad personalization, ad storage, and ad-user-data signals denied by default, so it measures traffic in aggregate without building an advertising profile of you.

None of these load until you opt in. On your first visit a consent banner asks before anything runs — decline and nothing loads or sends anything from your device. Accept and you can still withdraw any time from the ANALYTICS control in the footer, which governs all three. Withdrawing also clears any analytics cookies already set on your device. The choice itself is remembered on that device with no cookie, just a local flag.

Your choices and rights

Unsubscribe from any email in one click. Ask us to delete your data any time — email us at support@toolsandtradesmoney.com — and we will, within 30 days. If you live somewhere with a privacy law (California, other US states, the EU or UK), your rights to access, correct, and delete your data work the same way: same email, same answer, no forms to fill out.

Kids

This site is written for working adults and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from kids — if you think a child sent us something, email us at support@toolsandtradesmoney.com and we’ll delete it.

Where your data lives

Kearsarge Studios LLC operates from the United States and data is processed in the United States. Where our vendors (Google, Meta, Anthropic, Kit, Vercel, Upstash, Paddle) move data across borders, they rely on their own approved transfer safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
